it all began with a simple question

What do I give my (future) wife for Christmas?

Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, my wife and I share nostalgic feelings for the 1982 World’s Fair.

The fair drew over 11 million visitors, making it one of the most popular world's fairs in US history.  When we remember the fair, we see the flying flags from all over the world, the exhibitions, exciting new inventions, parades and performances and most of all, the Sunsphere (which still stands today).

But what we didn’t realize at the time (we were both 12 years old) was that the fair taught us to appreciate the variety of people and places beyond our "scruffy little city."  Over 30 years later that spirit remains.  When we travel together - or with our two boys - we seek adventure in unexpected places and enjoy discovering experiences we wouldn’t have thought of before.

I originally created Destination Dice in December 2006, just for us.

The concept is simple -- roll, plan, go, and share.

Our first roll was East | 301-600 miles | Weekend | Bling | Romantic.

In February 2007 we traveled to Middleton Place in Charleston, SC.

In May 2007 we traveled to the 133rd Kentucky Derby* in Louisville, KY.

I proposed right after this picture was taken ... she said yes!

* fun fact:

Queen Elizabeth II was in attendance that year.  She was on the balcony just below us!

For us, its about choosing memories over materials.

We believe in embracing serendipity, encouraging adventure and enhancing personal communication as the foundation of an authentic travel experience.

Ten years in the making.

In 2015 our older son used Destination Dice as his project for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.  He studied the leisure travel market, developed a business plan, and presented to a panel of investors.

We turned it into a family business called Epitrek.

And now we want to share it with you.

Adventure awaits...
